Soul versus Brand DNA

Brand DNA describes the brand. Soul describes the working style of the Brand Manager. Use Soul for durable preferences such as how direct recommendations should be, what trade-offs matter, and how decisions should be presented.

Write effective instructions

  • State the Brand Manager’s role and decision standard.
  • Define how concise or detailed responses should be.
  • Name constraints that should always be respected.
  • Explain when the Brand Manager should ask before acting.
  • Avoid copying temporary campaign details into permanent instructions.

Update Soul in Settings

  1. 1Open Settings.
  2. 2Choose Soul under Account.
  3. 3Review the current Brand Manager instructions.
  4. 4If you are an owner or admin, make focused changes within the 2,000-character limit and save them. Members see Soul as read-only.
  5. 5Use Cmd+S on macOS or Ctrl+S elsewhere to save from the editor.
  6. 6Start a new chat when you want to evaluate the changed behavior cleanly.
